hey, shikhar malik here.
recently graduated from nyu with my master's in computer science, trying to figure out what to do next.
currently i am:
- started trashnotes to dump my dsa solutions and thinking. use it if it helps!
some things i've done:
- spent 3+ years at optum(unitedhealth group) building enterprise pipelines handling over 27 million records a quarter. i wrote python and java workflows, fixed critical memory leaks, migrated cloud infra and setup ci/cd.
- summer interned at root access where i helped build their hardware-focused ai "seb", vs-code based editor and cli tool from the ground up. core product contributions directly supported a successful $2.1m seed round.
- A fullstack web app named DermaVision, using a DenseNet 169 classifier that hits 91.2% accuracy. It won 2nd place out of 300+ global teams in the Optum Global Hackathon.
- A pet care platform Tailwise, integrated with Gemini to handle AI-powered food safety checks mostly because prompt tuning for pet health is surprisingly nuanced.
- A deep learning paper where I built a dataset of 1,882 annotated memes called Multimodal Offensive Meme(MOM) to classify complex online hate speech. Early fusion techniques boosted our multimodal precision by 25 percentage points.
Bit of a jack-of-all-trades, interested in Agentic AI and high-throughput systems.
Whether it’s the chaotic early-stage startup or engineering for enterprise scale, I’m down.
Currently open to offers, heres my Resume!
